TULN Salutes Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, as a Leadership Model for Nigeria’s Political Class
The Tinubu-Uba Leadership Network (TULN), a forward-thinking political and civic platform based in Kaduna State, has issued a strong commendation of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, describing him as “a role model for Nigeria’s political class” and “the embodiment of the leadership values Nigeria urgently needs.”
In a statement signed by the TULN Team lead by the Deputy State Chairman Hon Husseini Modibo, Madam Rebekah Shehu , Deputy State Coordinator, Hon Gonoh Sabastine , Director of Youth Mobilization and Alhaji Sirajo Lere, the group hailed the humility, patriotism, and quiet dignity that have defined General Musa’s service to the nation, particularly in moments that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.
“In an era where too many see leadership as a pedestal of privilege, General CG Musa has chosen to see leadership as a platform for service. His character is not just an inspiration — it is a challenge to our entire political establishment,” the statement reads.
General CG Musa’s Leadership: Humble, Impactful, and Deeply Human
TULN noted several examples of General Musa’s conduct that deeply resonate with the ideals of servant leadership. During the holy month of Ramadan, the Chief of Defence Staff was seen humbly serving meals to junior officers — a rare, unscripted moment of solidarity that broke down the formal walls of hierarchy and built trust among the ranks.
In Kaduna, he personally visited wounded soldiers at the 44 Army Reference Hospital, not for cameras or applause, but to listen, console, and remind injured troops that their sacrifices matter. He didn’t delegate compassion. He delivered it himself.
Similarly, during a visit to frontline troops in Zamfara, General Musa reached into his own earnings to provide cash support to soldiers battling insurgents. It was not a publicity stunt — it was a sincere gesture of gratitude and patriotism.
“This is what true leadership looks like — not loud speeches or self-praise, but quiet acts of compassion that change lives,” TULN emphasized.
Why Nigeria’s Political Class Must Learn from General Musa
According to TULN, these acts of humility and patriotism are desperately lacking in Nigeria’s political environment. Too often, politics is reduced to a game of ego and rivalry, where leaders chase power for personal glory rather than public service.
“Many in the opposition refuse to acknowledge the bold reforms and progress made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration — not because these achievements don’t exist, but because partisanship has overtaken patriotism,” the statement noted.
TULN insists that General CG Musa’s example offers an urgent lesson: leadership should transcend political lines, regional divides, and personal ambitions. It should be about nation-building, empathy, and inclusive progress.
Southern Kaduna: Learn from Your Son, Lead Like Your Son
TULN reminds the people of Southern Kaduna that General CG Musa is not just a national figure — he is one of their own, a son of the soil, and a towering example of what the region can offer Nigeria in terms of integrity, discipline, and responsible leadership.
“If Southern Kaduna seeks political relevance and economic advancement, we must first cultivate the values that General Musa embodies:
– Humility over ego
– Service over showmanship
– Unity over sentiment
– Progress over politics.”
The group warned against the destructive politics of division, where individuals tear each other down for personal gain, leaving the community fragmented and voiceless.
A Call to Conscience: Let’s Do Right by Nigeria
TULN concluded by urging politicians, youth leaders, civil society actors, and religious stakeholders to return to the basics of empathetic, people-centered leadership.
“Southern Kaduna doesn’t need more slogans. Nigeria doesn’t need more finger-pointing. What we need is more integrity, more selflessness, and more leadership like that of General CG Musa.”
The network reaffirmed its commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and called on all Nigerians — regardless of party affiliation — to place the nation’s unity and progress above personal or political gain.
“Because at the end of the day, true leadership isn’t about being right — it’s about doing right. Let’s do right by Southern Kaduna. Let’s do right by Nigeria.”
